Olink Assays offered at NSC Ullevål

At NSC Ullevål we offer the Olink Reveal and Olink Explore HT assays, which both utilize an NGS read-out. Results are reported as Normalised Protein Expression (NPX) values, a relative measure of protein abundance.

Olink Reveal

Olink Reveal enables the measurement of more than 1,000 protein biomarkers (Olink Reveal — Olink®), offering broad proteome coverage and deep insights into inflammation processes. With a high proportion of cis-pQTLs, it provides valuable data for proteogenomics studies.

Olink Explore HT

Olink Explore HT enables the measurement of 5400+ human proteins (olink-explore-ht-assay-list.xlsx) simultaneously, encompassing all major biological pathways and spanning 10 logs of protein concentrations. The assay covers the same proteins as the Reveal assay, plus over 4400 more, of which approximately a fifth are tissue-specific proteins and over 300 are currently uncharacterised. Explore HT therefore functions as a high throughput and rapid biomarker discovery tool.

The olink protocols have been optimized for serum and plasma, and all samples in a project must be of the same type. Samples should be delivered in 96-well skirted plates (preferably ABgene AB-0800-L), and must be placed in the wells A1-F11. The remaining 10 wells must be left empty.

Prior to sample delivery, the samples and plates need to be randomized to minimize technical bias and ensure reliable results. You must contact us for instructions on sample and plate randomization prior to pipetting and sending samples.

Sample delivery

Samples should be transported frozen on dry ice, and will be stored at -80 C. Please contact us in advance of shipping samples, which should be sent to the following address:
