Run parameters
The NovaSeq 6000 system offers two methods for flow cell loading: the NovaSeqXP or standard workflow. With the NovaSeqXP workflow, each flow cell lane can be loaded individually to separate different projects or methods between lanes. With the standard workflow, all lanes of the flow cell are loaded with the same content and are not separate, which requires compatible index combinations among all samples.
SP flow cell
- Lanes per flow cell: 2
- Read lengths: 2x 50bp, 1x 100 bp, 2x 150 bp, 2x 250 bp
- Up to 800 million reads per end per flow cell
- Total output up to 400 Gbp per run, depending on the read length.
- Run duration up to 38 hours
S1 flow cell
- Lanes per flow cell: 2
- Read lengths: 2x 50bp, 1x 100 bp, 2x 100 bp, 2x 150 bp
- Up to 1.6 Billion reads per end per flow cell
- Total output up to 500 Gbp per run, depending on the read length.
- Run duration up to 25 hours
S2 flow cell
- Lanes per flow cell: 2
- Read lengths: 2x 50bp, 1x 100 bp, 2x 100 bp, 2x 150 bp
- Up to 4.1 Billion reads per end per flow cell
- Total output up to 1.25 Tbp per run, depending on the read length.
- Run duration up to 36 hours
S4 flow cell
- Lanes per flow cell: 4
- Read lengths: 2x 100 bp, 2x 150 bp
- Up to 10 Billion reads per end per flow cell
- Total output up to 3 Tbp per run, depending on the read length.
- Run duration up to 44 hours
