Hi-C sample requirements

Hi-C sample prep starts directly from the tissue, no DNA extraction is needed. High sample quality is needed, please keep the tissue frozen, and send your samples on dry ice.

If you are sending more tissue than needed, please be sure to cut the tissue in small enough pieces and send in several tubes.

Sample amount:

  • Animal tissues: 50-200 mg of non-fatty soft tissue (muscle, internal organs)
  • Blood: 25 µl of nucleated red cells (fishes, reptiles, birds)
  • Other sample types: please contact us

Sample storage:

  • Tissues: flash-frozen in liquid nitrogen. Not ideal but accepted: preserved in RNAlater or ethanol.
  • Blood: flash-frozen in liquid nitrogen or dry ice. Do not use ethanol, any lysis buffers or detergents to preserve the blood.
